Visiting Artist, Curator, & Scholar Program
The Cypress College Art Department reguarly invites a variety of nationally recognized professional artists, curators, and scholars to engage with students by way of lectures, workshops, critiques, public artworks, and exhibitions. These special engagements encourage the following:
deepen an appreciation of the role of the arts in contemporary life and culture
create an awareness of leading figures in visual and media arts who are addressing issues, ideas and themes that are relevant to a variety of communities
increase visibility of specialized courses in the department
encourage completion rates among for students within the Art Department
demonstrate a need for a pathway for higher education at UC, CSU and private Art programs
